IP Cameras
An Internet Protocol camera, or IP camera, is a type of digital video camera that receives control data and sends image data via an IP network. They are commonly used for surveillance but unlike analogue closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, they require no local recording device, only a local area network
HD Analogue Cameras
These cameras record images to a digital recorder is then converted from a video to a digital format, to view, a DVR needs to be connected to a monitor. These cameras also allow you to record in 720p high definition (HD)
Thermal Cameras
Cognitio's Thermal Range provides cameras that can monitor total darkness and daylight with it's built in Smart IR for confirming details. Built-in fire detection and alarms give the camera the ability to detect a fire from a long distance, with these cameras being sensitive to temperature, reading will be more accurate. Additionally, with an IP67 rating, these cameras are protected against water and dust making it suitable for outdoor environments.
Digital Video Recorders (DVR's)
DVR's, also known as Digital Video Recorders are electronic devices that record videos in a digital format, they are mainly used with analogue cameras. The different channels indicate the amount of cameras they can facilitate, with an 8 channel DVR being able to house 8 CCTV cameras.
Monitors
The monitors are the way in which CCTV footage will be displayed, these come in different sizes:
Network Video Recorder (NVR)
NVR systems record and store video footage directly from the network it lives on and work with IP Cameras. Cognitio offer three different types of NVR's 4K, Pro 4K and AI NVR's.
